The German EuroPeers enjoying the sun

While the autumn and spooky season surrounds us in the EuroPeers network, we are sharing some summer memories from the German network:

On the weekend of the EU parliamentary elections from 7th to 9th June, the German network came together in the centre of Germany near Fulda. We had a great time looking back and looking ahead at our annual network meeting, discussing the EU, reflecting on our role as EuroPeers in the network and planning new activities with the theme of “Building Bridges and Changing Perspectives – EuroPeers for a Democratic Europe”.

In our group, we welcomed many new EuroPeers from the Bucharest training to the German network, as well as catching up with other peers. We spent most of the weekend in sunshine and beautiful green scenery, and were inspired by the peaceful atmosphere. The centrepiece of the weekend was a station run in the forest, where EuroPeers worked in small groups to discuss EU criticism and benefits as well as our role in the network. We shared our thoughts over a picnic and continued the afternoon with a EuroPeers marketplace. Through various market offers, we looked at how to make the network more inclusive and diverse, how to better integrate new EuroPeers into the network and how to cooperate with Eurodesk.

There was also time to come together in the evenings around the campfire, barbecuing, having inspiring conversations and playing games. Despite the challenges of the trains, we were able to gain a lot of motivation and inspiration for new activities. We can’t wait for all the upcoming events in the German and international network!
